Rural Geography Research Group Annual General Meeting 2025

We are pleased to announce the details of this year’s Annual General Meeting, as follows:

The meeting will include a review of the RGRG’s activities in 2024/25, a look ahead at plans for 2025/26, and elections for vacant committee roles.

This year, we are looking to fill the following committee vacancies:

Chair – the Research Group’s Chair will lead the Group, helping to set its agenda and supporting other committee members in their roles. They may also be asked to respond to consultations by the Society on behalf of the group. The Chair should be a more senior scholar, and must be a current RGS-IBG Fellow. This is a three year position.

Treasurer – keeps the accounts for the group, ensures payments are made on behalf of the group, and compiles and submits the group’s annual financial reporting. Must be a current RGS-IBG Fellow. This is a three year position.

Ordinary Member – supports the work of the Research Group and provides feedback and input on the Group’s activities at committee meetings. This is a three year position.

Postgraduate Representative x 2 – promotes postgraduate interests and need to the wider Research Group and maintains connections with the wider postgraduate community through the RGS Postgraduate Forum and with reps from other Research Groups. The PGR roles are one-year positions.

If you are interested in any of the above roles, please email an expression of interest (up to 200 words) and details of a Proposer and a Seconder (who should be RGRG members) to Aimee Morse (amorse1@glos.ac.uk) by 12:00 BST on Monday 1st September. Please also share these opportunities in your networks.
