We are pleased to announce the details of this year’s Annual General Meeting, as follows:
Monday 7 September, 14:00-16:00 BST, on Zoom
The meeting will include a review of the RGRG’s activities in 2025/26, a look ahead at plans for 2026/27, and elections for vacant committee roles.
This year, we are looking to fill the following committee vacancies:
Secretary – the Research Group’s Secretary supports the Chair, with particular responsibility for organising and minuting the group’s AGM and other meetings, coordinating the application process for RGRG sponsored sessions at the RGS-IBG Annual Conference, and supporting with grant applications. The Secretary also coordinates Research Group membership, including updating the JISCMail list, and shares regular News emails with members. The Secretary must be a current RGS-IBG Fellow. This is a three year position.
Ordinary Member – supports the work of the Research Group and provides feedback and input on the Group’s activities at committee meetings. This is a three year position.
Ordinary Member (Communications) – supports the work of the Research Group, with a focus on the Group’s communications (on LinkedIn, a biannual newsletter and website updates) and provides feedback and input on the Group’s activities at committee meetings. This is a three year position.
Postgraduate Representative x 2 – promotes postgraduate interests and need to the wider Research Group and maintains connections with the wider postgraduate community through the RGS Postgraduate Forum and with reps from other Research Groups. The PGR roles are one-year positions.
